All The Work And Time In The Gym Andrew Wiggins Has Put In Has Produced NOTHING!

Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves is about to start his 6th season with the Wolves. We all know that he was the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers and later traded to the Wolves for All-Star Kevin Love. There has always been high hopes that Wiggins would blossom into an All-Star but, after 5 seasons he has yet to come close.

This offseason has been different, according to writers who are so "pro-Wiggins" that some fans have begun to question if those writers are on Owner Glen Taylor's payroll. Maybe they were offered a chance to write for the StarTribune if they talked Wiggins up to create a false impression that he will be turning the corner...finally. It is widely known that Wiggins' contract is one of the worst in the league and because he is on a Max deal, the wolves have had little room with the salary cap to offer a more deserving player and the result has been the team being in NBA Purgatory...Again.

Young Andrew has started to respond to the increased criticism he has been facing and it appears Wiggins believes he is better than he is. ESPN released their list of the Top-100 players recently but, Wiggins was not among them. He responded to the list by claiming there "are not 100 players better than him."
Writers have continued to fluff him up by making it a point to relay to the fans that he has really worked his butt off and he has been in the gym all the time working on his game

Lets take a look at what all of his hard work has done for his game and hopefully a glimpse of the big things we can expect this season. This IS the season that he proves all of the doubters wrong. The last two preseason games, Wiggins put up some impressive numbers.

Against the Pacers, Wiggins posted a whopping 11 points. He scored those measly 11 points off of 4 for 16 shooting. That means that out of 16 shots (free throws not included), he made only four. He scored 3 points from 3 for 4 free throws. He was 0-2 from 3-point range and only had ONE assist. He had zero blocks and zero steals but, he did pull down 3 rebounds. Those numbers are hardly worthy of a Max contract. Lets look at his numbers from the last game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

He scored 10 points on 4-18 shooting. That's FOUR baskets made out of EIGHTEEN shots! I think there are 200 players who are better than Wiggins! He grabbed just two rebounds and got just one assist. He only took 2 free throws and missed them BOTH! He didn't show up to play any defense and his zero blocks and steals proves it. He managed to turn the ball over 3 times as well.

To put this bluntly... Andrew Wiggins is STILL a VERY over-paid player who might have potential but, if the last two games offer us anything we should expect from him this year.... It is that we should expect Wiggins to cost the team a lot of wins. Frankly, Wiggins sucks and Rosas should do what is needed to get rid of him. If/when Wiggins is actually traded, I hope the Wolves will give him a participation trophy so, he won't feel butt hurt again. Pffft! Wiggins is such a baby and he has played like shit thus far. God.... Just rid our team of Andrew Wiggins!

  1. I agree that if we can trade Wiggins, we should. Don't worry about what you get back as long as it is expiring contracts or Athletic players that can play the kind of offense Rosas wants. I don't worry about Wiggins being a big Papi for some NBA team. He will never be it for us, so why worry. As for the rest of this team. I was so wrong about the pickups that Rosas made. This is the most unathletic team in the NBA,with a very small basketball IQ. Being slow and stupid is not a good combination. KAT is slow and not the brightest, but he can score and create. Wiggins is low and not the brightest, but he can only score and not effectively. One has to go, because having two of these as leaders is a bad start to building a team. Lastly, Saunders needs demand Rosas trade players that aren't good shooters. This offense is predicated on good shooting, which we don't have.
