Timberwolves Andrew Wiggins is Woeful

Below is a comment that I wrote this morning under the Player Grades Fansided/Dunkingwithwolves article written by Ben Beecken after the Timberwolves loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
My comment was REMOVED! The only explanation given was "detected as spam." This has happened to me numerous times with comments that criticize Andrew Wiggins.
There's obviously absolutely nothing spam-ish about what I comment. Henceforth, I'll be posting here at NBA Timberolves Talk all of my comments that are taken down at Fansided.com/Dunkingwithwolves.com.

The Timberwolves MUST get rid of Andrew Wiggins!!!
Wiggins, Teague, Deing, Culver, Layman and Diop should be trade packaged in such a way that three assets are paired with Towns and Covington. The Wolves need stars that are legitimate winners that attract fans and give them reason to watch games; players that age like fine wine and not like Wiggins who's aging like milk.
The era of Wiggins as a Timberwolf NEEDS to end!!! The Timberwolves franchise needs to shed it's dead branches and put an end to the Wiggins area of heartless, no Defense, and inefficient basketball. This team needs a spark for it's fanbase and cutting away the Wiggins cancer is the first necessary step in a good and healthy direction.
It's gotten to a point now where Wiggins touches the ball and the fanbase just cringes with negative expectations. That's not sustainable for a team's fanbase. It was cute when Wiggins was a little child playing against men. Remember: "Oh, look at those Timberpups. Aren't they so cute!!?. Wiggins scores sooooo many points and he's sooo young!! Our future is sooo bright!!! We don't care if they win today." Well, those days are loooong gone and expectations by the fanbase are currently set on ADULTS winning basketball games in a consistent and sustainable system. What we fans have now is sour milk peddled as a delicious DQ Blizzard.
These games are unwatchable. Timberwolves entertainment value now rests on Towns ability to play MVP calliber basketball every single night and that's not realistic. It's going to get very old for Towns also. Just wait till KAT pulls a Anthony Davis-like trade request, Butler style if necessary to get the heck out of a Timberwolves uniform.
Wiggins must go NOW!!! A dude who gives up during games, blames others for his shortcomings, and exibits a seriously dysfunctional level of inflated sense of self importance as Wiggins chronically does IS NO GOOD FOR THE TIMBERWOLVES!!!!
There are no more excuses allowed. Thibbs is gone. Butler is gone. The Timberwolves have a coach who hands out hugs like Lifesavers. The President of Basketball Operations adds diversity (as if that's actually important). And, we've all heard of this new "culture" that's supposed to be the cherry on top... This clearly ain't workin'!!!
Also, do you actually think Ryan Saunders would have gotten hired as Head Coach anywhere else in the NBA or even the WNBA?? No, OF COURSE NOT!!! That was an emotional decision to massage the feelings of the insecure Minnesota Timberwolves fanbase. That's no way to run a basketball franchise!!!
Now, just watch the typical Wiggins and Timberwolves critics haters chime in below with low IQ responses. Supporting the Wolves unconditionally is NOT what a true Timberolves fan ought to do!!
God save my team!!!

  1. A well written article. This is a strong view, but hard to dispute. The comment on low IQ fans sounds of bitterness and resentment. I would hope the Minnesota fan base has room for the critical fan and those who wear rose colored glasses. I wax and wane between both viewpoints.

  2. I also feel that Wiggins is not worth the trouble and the sooner we can shed his contract the better. However, as I have mentioned many times, getting back a worse situation contract or bad attitude just to rid yourself of someone isn't good either. KG wanted to leave and what did we get in return? KLove wanted to leave and that is how we got Wiggins and Bennett. The reality is that until we can get a better deal, we are stuck with this deal. We have an abundance of below average players on this team that could be dealt. One that everyone thinks has potential is Culver. When you look at the number of rookies this year that have more impact than Culver, I see him as a piece that could be traded sooner and still get something in return. Same with Vonleh, Okogie and Teague. Trading those guys first, could improve our Wiggins stock, since improved players surrounding KAT and Wiggins could make them a playoff team. That means he could be traded for pieces that fit the better team and not just to unload his bloated contract for more below average guys. Outside of KAT (and I would entertain trades for him too, given that the C position isn't the key guy anymore.) Give me Kawhi or Harden for KAT and I would have to think hard about it.

  3. Now that Wiggins is no longer a Wolf, do you see a future for this team as it is now constructed? Also, do you think there is any chance that GState will rue the day they got Wiggins, or will they be able to provide the necessary heart transplant that he needs to be a top player?
